Vom 18. bis 19. März 2008 findet in London der Gartner Customer Relationship (CRM) Summit statt. Führende Gartner Analysten treffen zusammen, um Unternehmensvertreter dabei zu unterstützen, effektivere Strategien, Taktiken und Techniken in Sachen CRM zu entwickeln, sich von gewöhnlichen Erfahrungen abzuheben und Innovationen voranzutreiben. Im Oktober 2007 befragte Gartner mehr als 250 Unternehmens- und IT-Vertreter aus Europa, dem Nahen Osten und Afrika (EMEA), die die CRM-Strategie in ihren Organisationen verantworten. Die Untersuchung zeigte, dass CRM-Investitionen weiterhin stabil bleiben: Zwei Drittel der Befragten stuften CRM innerhalb ihrer TOP 3 Prioritäten ein.
Gartner schätzt, dass der Lizenz- und Wartungsumsatz des europäischen CRM-Marktes im Jahr 2007 die Marke von 2,5 Milliarden US-Dollar erreicht hat. Im Jahr 2008 wird der Markt voraussichtlich um 12 Prozent wachsen und einen Umsatz von 2,8 Milliarden US-Dollar erwirtschaften. „Der Optimismus zeigt sich auch in den Aussagen von 44 Prozent der Befragten, die erwarten, dass ihr Budget für CRM-Projekte anwächst“, erklärt Gartner Analyst Chris Pang.
